Life speeds up when it seems like it’s moving slow. Today Baby girl is ten months old and last month she started daycare. For nine months she had the opportunity to stay at home. It was a beautiful tornado! You all know I don’t sugar coat, right? Running my own business, Naked Sugars, and finding time to be productive became very hard as she progressed in her motor skills. So we decided to put her in daycare. The brutal truth of an entrepreneur is if you don’t work you don’t get paid! So taking baby girl from home care to daycare was imperative!
At six weeks, Doll was put into daycare, it was a different time in our lives and we did what was needed. This time in our lives we have more flexibility! I wrote about Dolls transition here and here as she went from daycare to pre-school and I recall feeling nervous and afraid at the thought of Doll moving into a new environment. So I expected the same gut-wrenching, can barely breathe feeling. However, when the first day of baby girl to attend daycare rolled around, I found myself excited about this new milestone.
I walked into the daycare, passed Baby girl off to her new teacher, lingered just a bit, kissed her goodbye and walked away. She cried for a mere second. Trust me I counted as I slow-walked away. I left the daycare nerves and filled with excitement. Excited to have eight hours of my time back, excited to have baby girl around other babies her age and excited that I handled the situation like a mom of two!
It’s true what they say, the second time around is different. I feel like a walking Luv’s commercial!
